No longer a test of Mother knows best.
Because best in some children's eyes,
And in many Mother's eyes,
Are just not enough.
They wished that they had done more,if only they could have,
But then, life is not always gentle and knowing,
As a Mother is supposed to be.
Around each bend there are many turns,
It isn't from a Handbook that Mother learns,
It's simply an instinct that is learnt,
By life itself before she was a Mother.
Memories of love, laughter can be easily forgotten.
Yet never the faults and mistakes, etched on the heart,
Can't be erased if never forgiven.
To repeat again and again,
Till death do they part.
No Mother is perfect, they are human.
Only to feel love is never enough.
To this day brings joy and sadness,
For those who have survived,
The triumph of Happy Mother's Day.
Is a reward that every Mother craves,
Maybe even for just this one Day.
